Iglesia Bautista Hispana Emanuel (Spanish language church start)
Ernest Hastey pastors this Spanish-language congregation. He and his wife Donna served for more than two decades as missionaries in Paraguay.

This is a growing congregation full of joy and deep relationships. We share facilities and occasionally get the privilege of worshipping together.

The Rock (brand new church start in south Cheyenne)

This is what he has to say:

The Rock is a ministry that is intended to reach out to every person in need. Jesus said to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, giving cloths to those without and to visit the imprisoned. We do our best to do as God provides the means. A part of feeding, giving, clothing, and visiting is sharing the love of Jesus with those same people not only through ministry but through the gospel message. When God breaks your heart for a people there is only to follow where He takes you and to follow His will. By teaching God’s word through every part of our ministry the gospel message is made clear and encouraging.

My heart is simply to go and tell of the good news of Jesus to all people giving them the opportunity to accept His love and saving grace. Although having worship and Bible study together is important, getting out of the building and allowing God to use us reach into peoples lives is the focus of our ministry. Being a conduit for God’s blessings is the life blood of this ministry.

Working together with other congregations

Frontier Days
We join with other churches here in Cheyenne, and from all over the nation, to help give away labels inscribed with the plan of salvation. Those labels just happen to be stuck on 60,000 bottles of water that the thirsty tourists are glad to take off our hands for free! Each year we lead people to Christ and serve the city workers, cowboys, USAF Thunderbird pilots, and tourists the Water of Life with Pure Life bottles of water. We also give away commemorative belt buckles in a drawing that enables us to converse more at length about life with Christ.

Frontier Baptist Association
We associate with the other Southern Baptist churches in our region for the purposes of learning, missions and fellowship. Mark Porter is our director. Follow the link to learn more about it.

Wyoming Southern Baptists
We also work together with all the other Southern Baptists in our state. We do some dynamic things together. To learn more, follow the link provided.

Elsewhere in the USA

New Orleans
Some of our people have gone to help out in the recovery efforts from hurricanes in this region. Disaster relief is something many of our Wyoming Southern Baptists have been trained for. Most likely, we will be involved again there.

Texas
We are partners with Hillcrest Baptist Church near Dallas, Texas in some missions projects. We have assisted one of their new church starts, The Community at Lakeridge, in reaching out to that part of the metroplex. One of Hillcrest’s Sunday school classes has adopted us to pray for us continually, and many of the church’s members have journeyed here to help us during Frontier Days

Across the globe

Canada partnership
Churches in Alberta, Canada have joined us as partners. We journey north to help them start new churches with various means, including block parties, vacation Bible schools, backyard Bible clubs, prayer walks, soccer camps and more. Get your passport ready!

Haiti

Our director of associational missions for the Frontier Baptist Association, Mark Porter, returned recently from Haiti.  He was used by God there to see others come to Christ and to serve as a building inspector.  Beautiful are the miracles he reported to us.  Currently, there are plans being made to take another team in November to help move rubble and minister to people.  Come get involved to learn more.

Our pastor, Max, was part of a team of five from Wyoming to go to Africa in April/May.  He joined with members from College Heights Baptist Church in Casper (http://www.collegeheightscenter.org) on the journey.  They landed in Lusaka, Zambia and made their way to Kitwe, where the ladies stayed and taught the book of Esther to about 40 Zambian women.  There the men joined pastor Patrick Chanda of the Chande Project (http://www.chandekids.org) and four amazing godly deacons from the Chamboli church on a 20-hour road trip in a truck to Pweto, Democratic Republic of Congo.  In Pweto, the men met with more than 20 Congolese pastors, some of whom walked, biked and boated for days, for a Bible training conference.  For four days they surveyed the New Testament books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans and 1 John. 

There is a limited opportunity for workers to return to Kitwe in August to build some facilities.  There is also an opportunity to purchase a guest house in Pweto for $40,000 US.  The place would be used to house missionaries, pastors and workers as they clear land and build a Bible conference center there.

Other parts of the world
In addition to these places, members at Sunnyside have been on mission trips to Austria, Germany, Mexico, the Phillipines and Ukraine. Since some of our people are stationed at F. E. Warren Air Force Base, or serve in the National Guard, we also commission our military personnel as representatives of Christ when they go on TDY (Temporary DutY assignment) anywhere in the world. God sends Sunnyside people everywhere. Where will God take you?
